History The Uhl Agency was founded in 1958 by William G. Uhl most known at the time for his height and dominance on the basketball court at the University of Dayton. Through years of service to Dayton and his client base, William and his team built one of Dayton's most highly-regarded firms. Today, we remain a closely held, independent regional insurance agency dedicated to providing our clients with professional counsel and competitively priced solutions. Although the founding William is no longer involved in the day-to-day operations of the agency, his son Bill and long-term business partner Deborah Franz now direct the growing agency, its client relationships and dedicated team. Our People The Uhl Agency includes a team of eight full-time insurance professionals ready to assist our clients. Agency partner profiles are included below: Bill Uhl Bill is a native of Dayton, Ohio and a graduate of the University of Dayton (1989) with a degree in Business Management. He began working for the Uhl Agency in 1990 and is now a Principal and the President of the firm. He is married, has three children and is a member of Incarnation Church and is a Board Member for the Dayton Boys and Girls Club. He and his family reside in Washington Township. William Uhl Bill was born in Greenfield, Ohio - moving to the Dayton area in 1952. He is a 1956 graduate of the University of Dayton (B.S. Education). Shortly after graduation, he began working in insurance sales in 1956 and founded The Uhl Agency in 1958. He is married, has five children and is a member of Incarnation Church. He is currently a consultant to the growing agency. Deborah Franz Deborah is a Darke County (Ohio) native and graduate of the Franklin-Monroe School System. She began her career in 1973 in insurance sales, joining the Uhl Agency in 1985. Deb is married and has two grown sons. She is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a Board Member for Womanline. She is Principal and Vice President for The Uhl Agency and is a member of the Leadership Dayton Class of 2008.
